As a celebration worthy of our 18th anniversary we start the  season with the Stabat Mater by Pergolese in the chuch of Our lady of Peace in Riberac with the Young Dordogne Choir and the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra conducted by Peter de Groot.  This important occasion gives us once more a chance to appreciate the impressive work done  by this young choir.
During the summer festival there is a special place for the famous German bass-baritone Klaus Mertens, who is one of the most sought after performers of Bach and a leading light in the Baroque repertoire and who has sung  with the most prestigious orchestras the world over.   With Ton Koopman he has recorded  all Bach’s cantatas and will sing the bass cantatas during our final concert.
Ton Koopman has also invited other talented performers, such as the two French groups – the Ambassadors of Alexis Kossenko and the Concert Brisé of William Dongois who are both coming to the Itineraire Baroque for the first time.
To celebrate our heritage we start the traditional Itineraire this year in the magnificent village of Aubeterre’s splendid church of Saint James before moving to the churches of Comberanche, Bourg des Bost, Saint Paul Lizonne and Lusignac,  finishing the journey in the Chateau of La Richardie in Bouteille St. Sebastien.

I wish you all a very enjoyable Itineraire Baroque in 2019 where I hope to see you.
